Ideas about the senior market

As a frustrated graphic designer, I am trying to come up with other ideas to investigate to find clients. An obvious market sector to me is the growing senior/elder market with Boomers and parents aging. I would like to get some work in this area, but not sure what? I can set up social networks for a community, run some type of program, design any flyers, ads, publications, web and so on. I will start to reach out to places; I have some directories, contacts via Helene who is an elderlaw attorney.

Any brainstorming ideas will be appreciated.

Hi Abby: Try out in Rossmoor. The age to qualify to live there is 55 and up. They have a community center and loads of clubs that residents can join. Must be something out there for you to find some work. How designing flyers for real estate agents? Have you put your portfolio on Ning (here) at all?

Try contacting local nursing facilities, long-term, rehab, home care and hospice agencies. All these places will have - or should have - social programs and activity directors that you can contact and brainstorm with. These places, in my experience, lack technology, but social workers/directors would probably love fresh ideas. Teaching this age group to use the computer to keep in touch with family and take their minds away from the facilities they are living in would be ideal!
